General Information
Taking
into account that not only in
Russia
but in the whole world there
is a critical shortage of specialists in the field of informatics, the
Moscow
Financial-Juridical
Academy
is actively developing the
specializations "Application informatics" and "Organization and
Technology of Information Security."
According
to the founder of Microsoft, Bill Gates, in "the century of electronic
technologies" the major condition of providing viability of organizations
is speed of response to changes in the environment, i.e., creation of an "electronic
nervous system" providing for dataflow at the necessary time to the
necessary parts of the organization. Creation of an "electronic nervous
system" of enterprises and its hardware and software protection is the main
task of specialists in the field of informational technologies.
The
preparation of specialists in the field of informational technologies in the
Moscow
Financial-Juridical
Academy
as in many institution of
higher education began on the basis of the faculty of "Economy and
Management." In 1988, the specialty 071900 "Informational Systems in
Economy" was opened.
Students
get a wide spectrum of courses connected with computer techniques and
programming: algorithms and algorithmic languages, computer architecture and
assembler language, system software, application software, computer graphics,
databases, operational systems, artificial intelligence, object-oriented
programming, networks, network technologies, etc.
Practical
work at computers, including workstations and personal computers, takes a
significant place in the training of specialists. During their training students
learn to work in some operational systems and study at least two programming
languages.
The
Academy has a good technical base. The faculty is well equipped with computer
techniques. There are two classrooms of personal computers including those
equipped with up-to-date multimedia techniques and software with Intel
processors (20 PC in each classroom), and a specialized computer laboratory. All
the classrooms are combined into a local network on the basis of fiber-optic
communication lines with access to the Internet.
For
the first two years teaching is organized according to general educational plans
and programs. Main attention is paid to general-mathematical training, and
theoretical and application programming. Beginning with the 3rd year
students study disciplines in their chosen specializations.
All
students study English and a series of humanities disciplines.
Graduates
of the faculty with a talent for research can continue their education at
post-graduate study of the faculty for a period of training of three years (intramural
course) or four years (correspondence course).
Beginning
with the 3rd year our students, according to the educational plan,
should practice in structures of the Academy as well as at different enterprises
and in IT firms.
In
the faculty a department of "Informational systems and technologies"
has been created, in which friendly and high-qualified teaching staff provide
for the educational process in the faculty and the Academy.
The
faculty is located in a separate educational building in a developed area near
"Bibirevo" metro station. The entire educational process is organized
in a single building with lecture halls and auditoria equipped for practical and
seminar lessons.
Training
in the following specializations is given at the faculty of management and
informatics:
061100 – management of an
organization
060800 – economics and management
061000 – governmental and municipal
management

351400 – application informatics in
economy
010200 – applied mathematics and
informatics

technology of information protection
In
the faculty there are the following departments:
1.
A
department of mathematical and natural-scientific disciplines (all-institutional),
2.
A department of
economics and management (graduating in specialty 060800 with the qualification

6.
A department of
organization and technology of information security (graduating in

programmer and specialist in information security).
The
main task of the faculty of management and informatics of the
Moscow
Financial-Juridical
Academy
is the preparation of
managers and economists: professionals of a high level able to lead
Russia
to a civilized way of
economic and social development on the basis of using high-end technologies in
the economy.
Graduates
of the faculty also acquire necessary juridical and linguistic training and the
opportunity to adapt professionally to related kinds of professional
activities: management-economic, financial and credit, expert-consulting,
appraisal of property, external-economic, scientific-methodological, and
scientific-pedagogical.
The
graduates of the

The second
level is education oriented to preparation of high-qualified specialists. The
period of training is five-six years with conferment of the qualification of
"specialist" certified by diploma.
Courses
for Russian citizens
The
main course for Russian citizens in the faculty is a five-year program of a
certified specialist. The course concludes with the defense of a degree work and
taking a state examination in the specialty. A qualification of "informatist-economist"
in the specialty of "Application informatics in economy" and "specialist
in information protection" in the specialty of "Organization and
technology of information protection" is conferred on a graduate, and he
gets a diploma upon graduation from the
Moscow
Financial-Juridical
Academy
.
The
students who graduated from the department and who have demonstrated good
abilities in research can be recommended to post-graduate study in the faculty
and other institutions of higher education as well as to post-graduate study at
academic institutions.
List
of educational programs
Educational
programs suggested by the faculty are distinguished by a variety of courses able
to meet the versatile academic requirements for Russian citizens:
·
a full course
of training according to the program of a certified specialist (5 years);
·
post-graduate
